On 16 April 2020, notice was served on the Ghanaian government of the Company’s intention to take the Government of the Republic of Ghana (“Ghana”) to International Arbitration over the Gbane gold project. This action was taken by the Company after a comprehensive review of the documentation with its lawyers, and after Ghana advised it was unable to grant the licence renewal (without valid reason).
Legal action will pursue full compensation, including damages and costs.
Cassius anticipates the claim to be in excess of USD 275 million.
